Corruption in MNREGA

It is well propagated axiom that the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act aims at enhancing the livelihood security of people in rural areas by guaranteeing hundred days of wage-employment in a financial year to a rural household whose adult members volunteer to do unskilled manual work, but what really happen in the actual practice is hurtening to hear.

The 100 days work scheme of Central Government is abused like anything. Money is being distributed to villagers of all age group irrespective of their eligibility for hard labour. Authorities collect the commission from every labour systematically. Thus Tax payers Money is being swindled by some elite group of the rural community and the concerned officials and politicians. In this process, nobody is prefers to take up the agricultural works forcing the small land owners to stop the agricultural activities and to dispose their lands to black money holders for real estate purpose. Thus , this scheme has totally brought the agriculture to the grind halt in many parts of country. Rural people get free money, free rice, free groceries, free power without doing any work at all. The surplus money is being spent on drinks by them happily and enjoy their life. This is my personal experience in my village. The real empowerment of the women folk in the rural areas is missing.

Corruption Corruption corruption !!!!!!!!!!!! it is motto of our politicians and bureaucrats of this country. After the departure of British these categories have been taken their place to enjoy life using public money by way of fraud in such way- MNREGA, Direct Cash Transfer, Write off of farmers Debt, COAL GATE, CWG, etc etc etc........... And this Government is killing aam aadmi by inflation of LPG, Diesel, and many ways.
“.....performance audit of the mahatma gandhi national rural employment guarantee act......" this is yet another example exemplifying that fact that an 'act' can't act on its own, with a long list of rural development programmes right from the community development programme of 1952 to MGNREGA, the last in the list! except for the good work done by a handful of industrialists by establishing their own rural development cells, townships etc, government after government failed to put in all out efforts to improve the living conditions of the rural india remains a bare fact. this could have been achieved, had there been proper allocations and utilisation of the allocations, much earlier, when corruption was not rampant as it is today. now that politics is a business having made its inroads in almost all the resourceful areas through its corrupted hands, the system calls for a thorough overhaul... but how much time it will take? depends on the people of this country.

Why this middlemen are involved? Would it be possible to pay them by adhar card account directly to them by weekly? every worker is getting their money by 10 percent deducted by the middlemen. They are shedding their blood like sweat . Hard workers must deserve the right rewards.
