Commonly, all the bank exams having two tier examination system. That is Preliminary exam and main exam. Candidates those who qualified in the prelims exam will be allowed for main examination. Here we have provided exam pattern and syllabus of both prelims and main examination of banking sector.

Almost, all bank prelims exams having this similar exam pattern. In which three sections will be there namely English language, quantitative aptitude and reasoning ability having 30, 35 and 35 questions respectively. The maximum marks allotted for prelims exam is 100. Each section will have 20 minutes as sectional timing. Candidates have to answer the questions within their sectional timing. Important thing is 1/4thof allotted marks will be deducted as penalty for every wrong answer. No marks will be deducted for not attending the questions.  
Syllabus:
English Language: Reading Comprehension, Cloze Test, Para jumbles, Miscellaneous, Fill in the blanks, Multiple Meaning /Error Spotting, Paragraph Completion.
Quantitative Aptitude: Simplification, Profit & Loss, Mixtures & Allegations, Simple Interest & Compound Interest & Surds & Indices, Work & Time, Time & Distance, Mensuration – Cylinder, Cone, Sphere, Data Interpretation, Ratio & Proportion, Percentage, Number Systems, Sequence & Series, Permutation, Combination &Probability.
Reasoning Ability: Logical Reasoning, Alphanumeric Series, Ranking/Direction/Alphabet Test, Data Sufficiency, Coded Inequalities, Seating Arrangement, Puzzle, Tabulation, Syllogism, Blood Relations, Input Output, Coding Decoding.

Mains Exam Pattern may vary based on the examination; here we have given the most common Pattern. Bank Main examinations will have 200 maximum marks and this also have sectional timing. The sections and number of questions will differ according to the exams. So candidates can refer official notification of the respective recruitment to get exact mains exam pattern.

Reasoning:Verbal Reasoning, Syllogism, Seating Arrangement, Double Lineup, Scheduling, Input Output, Blood Relations, Directions and Distances, Ordering and Ranking, Data Sufficiency, Coding and Decoding, Code Inequalities, Course of Action, Critical Reasoning, Analytical and Decision Making.
Computer Aptitude: Internet, Memory, Keyboard Shortcuts, Computer Abbreviation, Microsoft Office, Computer Hardware, Computer Software, Operating System, Networking, Computer Fundamentals /Terminologies.
Data Analysis & Interpretation:Tabular Graph, Line Graph, Pie Chart, Bar Graph, Radar Graph Caselet, Missing Case DI, Let it Case DI, Data Sufficiency, Probability, Permutation and Combination.
General/ Economy/ Banking Awareness: Financial Awareness, Current Affairs, General Knowledge, Static Awareness, Banking and Financial Awareness. Current Affairs & Banking Awareness plays a vital role in General Awareness Section. To score more marks in this section you need to prepare Last 6 Months Current Affairs & Banking Awareness.

English Language:Reading Comprehension, Grammar, Vocabulary, Verbal Ability, Word Association, Sentence Improvement, Para Jumbles, Cloze Test, Error Spotting, Fill in the blanks.
What to do after Knowing Exam Pattern and Syllabus?
1.     After knowing bank prelims and mains exam pattern and syllabus, you have to sort out your strong and weak topics.
2.     Based on that you have to start your preparation at your home itself. After notification of the recruitment releases, hardly you will get 2 to 3 months for preparation.
3.     So you can plan your preparation path based on syllabus topics. Collect High standard study notes or materials either in the form of book or pdf.
4.     Try to understand the concepts of the topic instead of mugging up.
5.     Try to follow some conceptual tips or short cut methods to solve the questions with less timing. Because timing plays very crucial role in all bank exams.
6.     After clear with the concepts and shortcut methods try to attempting questions on the topic through topic wise mock test.
7.     If you validate you preparation through mock test, you will know whether this much preparation is satisfactory to crack the exams or not.
8.     Once you find the preparation is enough then move on the next topic and complete the whole syllabus.
9.     Finally you have to practice complete syllabus mock test frequently. Because practice only gives you the fluency to solve the questions accurately in short time.
10.  Try to do all the steps in regular manner, avoid directly attempting the questions without preparation and start your preparation only after collecting the study materials.
