Do you like snowboarding? Movies with great special effects? Theme parks? Well, all of these activities – and many more exist thanks to one profession: engineering.
In addition to recreational activities, engineers are also responsible for ensuring the safe construction and maintenance of much of the world’s infrastructure and manufacturing. In a nutshell, society would be pretty lost without this field.
So what does it take to become an engineer? First, you have to decide if engineering is right for you:
- Have you always been inquisitive about how things are built?
- How all the individual parts work together?;
- Are you conscientious about your schoolwork?
The engineering curriculum is a challenging one and therefore, it’s critically important to be aware of your core interests and strengths prior to selecting engineering as a definitive career path.
