With the number of U.S. craft breweries exploding from just eight in 1980 to more than 4,300 in 2016, one has to ask, is this growth sustainable or have we entered a craft beer bubble? Over the next few months, the UVM Business of Craft Beer will examine this important topic in a new podcast series, “Bubble or Sustainable Growth? Examining Today’s Craft Beer Industry.”UVM Business of Craft Beer program developer Gregory Dunkling will talk with suppliers, distributors, and industry economists and analysts, including Bart Watson of the Brewers Association, Dan Ukolowicz of Simple Roots Brewing, Steve Gagner of 14th Star Brewing, and Tom Acitelli, author of “The Audacity of Hops: The History of America’s Craft Beer Revolution.”
