10 Classroom Management Ideas to Try

Everyone has a bucket list of things they’d like to accomplish, even teachers. The problem is that we’re so tied down with the normalities of everyday classroom life that we don’t branch out and try those things we’ve always wished we had.

With that in mind, today on TeachHUB.com, frequent contributing writer Janelle Cox, herself a seasoned educator on the East Coast, illuminates ten  classroom management items that all teachers should try, starting this year.

Janelle’s ideas include:

  • Have Students Try Yoga
  • Don’t Use Technology for One Week
  • Bring in a Guest Speaker
  • Play Music
  • And More!

There are tons of ways to re-energize your class, today’s article just spotlights a few.
Janelle sums up her article thusly, in a paragraph on using lyrics to learn “One thing that children learn fairy quickly is song lyrics. This year have students put what they are learning in the classroom to the beat of their favorite tune. Elementary teachers have been using this method with their students for years and it works! Ask your older students to make up some lyrics to the beat of their favorite song using the information that you provide them. Students will love it!”

What are you going to try new this school year?
