Education in India

As we all know that Education is the most essential for the holistic development of children in India as well as in all parts of the world. It plays a major role for the physical, mental, emotional, and social development of the child. It helps children to learn, to be independent, to develop a sense of responsibility, and to become productive members of the society.

 In India, it is divided into the two tiers. First, pre-primary and then primary. Pre-primary education is structured in a way to teach children the basic skills like counting, reading and writing. It is designed to build on the skills and prepare children for higher education and for future careers. Education in India is heavily influenced by the government decisions and policies. As The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) formulates programmes and policies for the better development of the education system in the country. It has established a National Curriculum Framework (NCF) to ensure the quality education for children in the country. And the NCF focuses on the development of a holistic approach to education that encompasses social, cognitive, physical and emotional development of children. The Right to Education RTE Act was passed in 2009 to ensure that all children of the country receive free education up to the age of 14.




 This Act also mandates the provision of free uniforms, textbooks and the mid-day meals in the government schools. The RTE Act also states that no child will be denied for admission to school due to lack of proper finance or documents. The Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan SSA is another initiative which was launched by the Government to provide quality education to all children in the country. They provide free textbooks as well as mid-day meals, and also other educational support to children from family backgrounds which cannot afford all these. In addition to all this measures, the Government has also established a number of initiatives to improve the quality of education in country. The Central Board of Secondary Education CBSE is also one such initiative that sets the curriculum for all schools in India. The government has also launched the Udaan scheme to promoting education for girls in rural areas specially. Under this scheme, the government provides financial assistance to girls in need to pursue their studies.




Child Education in India is among the most important aspects of the country and is widely stressed upon. It is said to be one of the most important investments in a nation’s human capital and it is true as it is the key factor for the growth and development of any nation. It helps to create a more educated society and also enables individuals and communities to become more engaged in the better decision-making process, therefore contributes to the overall development of the country. It also plays a vital role in the overall development of a child’s personality and helps to shape the child’s career and future. It provides a platform for children to explore and discover their potential and encourages them to strive for betterment.

CONCLUSION-

 The government of India has taken various steps to ensure that all children receive quality education. The Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, The Right to Education Act, the Udaan scheme and also the other initiatives are helping to improve the educational outcomes for children in India. Despite all of these efforts, there is still a long way to go in terms for providing equal access to education for all children of India. The Indian government needs to continue this investment in education and ensure that all children should have access to quality education that also enables them to reach their full potential.
